Deciso Fine Violins is pleased to present the Teacher Essential Violin Care Workshop on June 2026, a focused and hands-on professional session specially designed for violin educators seeking deeper understanding in instrument care, maintenance, and setup.
This workshop is conducted by Deciso’s resident luthiers and bow maker, led by principal luthier Maestro Tan Chin Seng together with his luthier students Chang Song Jie and Samuel Wong, alongside Deciso resident bow maker Shemine Oh. With backgrounds in violin making, restoration, and bow craftsmanship — including international competition participation and award-winning recognition in violin-making competitions organized by ANLAI (Associazione Nazionale Liuteria Artistica Italiana, Italy) — the team offers participants a rare opportunity to learn directly from professionals dedicated to the craftsmanship, care, and tonal refinement of fine string instruments.
Unlike large-scale seminars, this workshop is structured as two separate one-day sessions held on 03 and 04 June 2026, with only 6 participants per session to ensure a focused, interactive, and engaging learning environment.
The workshop topics will cover the art of violin making, common violin and bow maintenance issues, as well as proper violin setup through a hands-on session using the Teacher Essential Kit, giving participants practical insight into instrument care, setup, and overall sound performance.
Beyond technical learning, this workshop also reflects Deciso Fine Violins’ ongoing commitment to supporting the local string music community through education, knowledge sharing, and meaningful professional exchange among educators and string professionals.
