This July, Deciso Fine Violins presents a diverse recital series featuring chamber music, solo performances, and instrumental artistry across strings, piano, and brass. The series highlights musicians at different stages of their development, offering audiences a varied programme of performances throughout the month.

Romantic Dialogues from the Russian Masters

Chamber Music Concert

Presented by Euroasia Association of Performing Arts and Deciso Fine Violins

Opening the series on 11 July is Romantic Dialogues from the Russian Masters, a chamber music concert bringing teachers, students, and friends together to perform and share music as a team. Featuring works by Russian composers including Rachmaninoff and Arensky, the concert highlights the collaborative nature of chamber music-making.

The concert features performances by Dr Poom Prommachart (piano), Harit Chunhanantasap (piano), Lim Zhi Hsuan (violin), and Jonathan Oh (cello), with a special guest appearance by Reanne Leow Le Xuan (piano) from the Junior Department of the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts.

 

Violin Solo Recital – Kay Lyn

Kay Lyn, a rising young violinist of the Malaysian Philharmonic Youth Orchestra (MPYO), presents her solo violin recital as part of the July Recital Series. Recognised as one of MPYO’s promising talents, she has received mentorship from MPO violinists Zheng Zheng and Ming Goh, which has played a significant role in shaping her musical foundation and artistic development.

Among her recent milestones was her appearance as a soloist with MPYO in October 2025 under the baton of Malaysian conductor and composer Tengku Irfan. In the same year, she furthered her musical studies at the Meadowmount School of Music in the United States through a seven-week summer programme, marking another important step in her continuing artistic journey.

In this recital, Kay Lyn presents a programme featuring Beethoven’s Violin Sonata No. 5 in F Major, Op. 24 (“Spring”), Wieniawski’s Violin Concerto No. 2 in D minor, Op. 22, Glazunov’s Three Pieces from Raymonda, Kreisler’s Syncopation, and Hubay’s Carmen Fantasie Brillante.

Postcards from the Silk Road

Cello & Piano Recital

The series continues on 25, 26 and 28 July with Postcards from the Silk Road, a cello and piano recital featuring Elizabeth, Assistant Principal Cellist of the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO), and Malaysian professional concert pianist and piano pedagogue Lee Jae Phang.

Through works by composers from diverse cultural backgrounds, the recital explores a variety of musical influences and traditions, showcasing the expressive partnership between cello and piano.

Euphonium Solo Recital – Tian Wen

While the recital series happen in our studio is best known for strings and piano, July welcomed a rare and exciting addition with Twen Siew Homecoming Euphonium Recital, a brass recital presented on 26 July by Malaysian euphonium educator and performer Siew Tian Wen, together with his fellow musician friends on piano and brass instruments. 

Having recently returned to Malaysia following his studies at Mahidol University’s College of Music in Thailand, this homecoming recital marks a new chapter in his musical journey.

Introducing a distinctive brass voice into the July recital series, the programme showcases the versatility and expressive character of the euphonium while broadening the month’s instrumental landscape.
